Is it Monday?

So I wake up this morning nice and rested. I lay there in my bed wondering how I woke up before my alarm because this never happens and I was especially tired last night. I slowly lift my wrist to my face and press the glow button on my watch. My eyes are blurred to any source of light just yet and when I finally see the time I have to press the glow button again because I don't believe my eyes. 7:45! That is an hour past when I wake up. Awesome. I sprang up from my bed in a panic. I sent my CT a text and grabbed some clothes and sprinted to the bathroom where I jumped in the shower quickly, brushed my teeth, and did the rest of the morning routine, except 10x's the speed. After getting ready and stopping for a coffee (only because it was on the way and there was no cars in line and I really needed it), I arrived to the school at 8:03 and made it to the classroom about five minutes before the kids did. It wasn't as bad as I thought the day would be, but it sure feels like I got two Mondays this week!

  1. Wow Dalton! Nothing worse than waking up late, especially when you thought that you were early huh?? Looks like you might need a new alarm clock--a cat works very well. I woke up to a email from my CT informing me that I didn't need to come due to a power outage. Lucky me!!

  2. Those are the types of mornings when I tell my girls, "We slept in. We have to get ready in turbo speed!"

  3. My favorite part of your post is that you thought you woke up earlier than your alarm! At least you got your double punch to make everything a little bit better :)

  6. This week has started out rough, I think we are all feeling a bit like this. I keep trying to sleep in this week and then I'm running around like crazy to be ready on time. It's amazing how much an extra five minutes in the morning really helps. Hope tomorrow is better!

  7. Thank you for sharing Dalton. I have done this before and share with your story about thinking you are awake before the alarm when your not. I had the experience of sleeping past a college exam and having to explain to the professor why I was late. I hope the rest of your week goes better!
